A man who reportedly escaped from lawful custody in Poole has been located and arrested following enquiries by officers.
Dorset Police said 32-year-old Jason Evans made off from a privately operated prisoner transport vehicle in Poole Road at around 5.28pm on Thursday 2 April 2026. Officers launched extensive enquiries in the following days as efforts were made to trace him.
On the afternoon of Monday 6 April 2026, Evans was reportedly located at an address in Bournemouth and arrested. He has been held on suspicion of remaining at large after recall to prison, with further enquiries now ongoing.
Police said they would like to thank members of the public who shared appeals and came forward with information during the search.
