Poole and Bournemouth councils will not fund Christmas lights

Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole (BCP) Council will not fund festive lights in 2023 due to budget constraints. The new authorities in Bournemouth and Poole have not allocated money for Christmas displays, according to Councillor Mark Anderson. He emphasized that the council will only use Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funds, the amount of which is currently unknown. In contrast, Broadstone Town Council has earmarked £3,000 for Christmas lights. The business improvement districts in Poole and Bournemouth currently finance their festive lighting.
