Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole Council is warning residents and visitors to exercise caution along the coastline as thunderstorms are expected. The Met Office issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms effective from 6 pm to midnight, predicting strong winds, lightning, and rapidly changing sea conditions. Councillor Millie Earl emphasized safety, especially for those near water, advising beachgoers to choose lifeguarded areas and be prepared to exit the water if conditions worsen. Heavy rainfall may cause inland flooding, prompting residents in at-risk areas to prepare flood plans. The Severe Weather Emergency Protocol is activated for rough sleepers during hot weather.
