Nigel Rowland Hicks, 78, from Highcliffe, is urging Dorset residents to participate in the Walk for Parkinson’s at Moors Valley on June 21. His wife, Margaret, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and dementia related to Lewy bodies 18 months ago. Driven by heartache for his wife, Nigel has raised over £1,200 and aims for £1,500 to assist others affected by the disease. The couple, married for 56 years, once led an active lifestyle, including walking in the Purbecks and traveling. The walk features two routes: a shorter 1.9-mile option and a longer 5.9-mile route.
