Care demand puts pressure on BCP funds

Rising demand for care services is increasing financial pressure on BCP Council, which reported a £4.6 million deficit for 2025 and 2026. Spending on adults’ and children’s services exceeded expectations, with children’s services overshooting the budget by £9.1 million and adults by £5.6 million. The council has implemented £8.7 million in savings and is urging the government to address national funding shortages.
