The Nine Stones, a prehistoric stone circle in Dorset, often goes unnoticed by passersby on the A35. Managed by English Heritage, it’s one of four such circles in the area, revealing connections to ancient rituals and burials upon excavation. Its unique valley-bottom location and the nearby long barrow add to its historical significance. Additionally, a notable monolith, The Cross in Hand, marks an old pathway. These stones serve as links to our ancestors, reminding us of the rituals and mysteries surrounding their construction and use in ancient times.
