Dorset man sentenced to five years for stabbing attack

Joshua Moore, 21, from Weymouth, was arrested at a Petersfield hotel after a stabbing incident in Sturminster Newton on September 30, 2025. After assaulting a woman, he stabbed her male friend with a four-inch lock knife during a confrontation, injuring him severely. Following the attack, Moore fled but was found two days later, having changed his hair color to evade capture. He was convicted of grievous bodily harm with intent and assault at Winchester Crown Court and sentenced to five years in prison on June 5. Authorities emphasize their commitment to addressing knife crime.
