Man acquitted of rape charges in Bournemouth

Mohammed Fathi Eltbie from Egypt was acquitted of rape charges after a trial at Bournemouth Crown Court regarding an incident on November 5, 2025. The woman, in her 30s, claimed Eltbie attacked her after she changed her mind about performing a sex act for money. Eltbie argued the encounter was consensual and that her frustration stemmed from receiving a bank card instead of cash. At the time of the hearing, Eltbie’s asylum status was unresolved, having been denied asylum in January 2025 after entering the UK in July 2023.
