The Dorset Local Transport Plan draft, spanning 2026 to 2041, was reviewed by the Dorset Council’s Overview Committee on June 4. Developed by Dorset and BCP Councils, it aims to enhance transportation safety and accessibility for walking, cycling, and public transport. Shaped by public feedback, it targets congestion reduction and carbon emission cuts, while supporting economic growth. Funding includes approximately £158.5 million from the Department for Transport for upgrades, including £33 million for 2026/27. Councillors emphasized collaboration in realizing the strategy for a cleaner, greener Dorset. The draft is available for public review on the Dorset Council website.
