Billy Banks, a 32-year-old man from Poole, pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal. The incident occurred when he posted a video in a hare coursing Facebook group on October 3, 2025, showing him pulling a live rabbit from a bag and releasing it for a young lurcher-type dog to chase. Identified from the footage, Banks was arrested in November 2025 and was found guilty at Poole Magistrates’ Court on May 28, 2026. He is scheduled to be sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court on June 26, 2026.
