Members of the Shave Cross Mini Marathon committee donated £4,000 to the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, funds raised during last year’s charity week. Committee member George Rendell emphasized the connection to the charity, citing its founding link and community support. Despite the ambulance being called out during the visit, the committee received a tour of the facilities. The charity relies entirely on public donations, requiring over £10 million annually to operate. With growing demand for its services, the charity is raising funds for a second helicopter and plans to relocate to a new headquarters in Yeovil.
