Margaret Barton, known for her role as Beryl Walters in the classic film set at Carnforth railway station, celebrated her 100th birthday on May 27, joined by notable guests including the Mayor of Wimborne Minster. The film, which premiered on November 13, 1945, is regarded as one of the greatest ever made. Following the tragic death of her son in 1981, she co-founded the Michael James Music Trust in his honor, aiding young musicians. She remarried in 2018, but her second husband, Rob Cave, passed away in 2023. Margaret currently resides in Wimborne Minster.
