On May 26, Joe Shaw and Chris Pocock were fishing at Rockley Park, Poole, when they heard cries for help from two girls, ages seven and nine, swept out to sea on rubber rings. Reacting instantly, they rushed into the water to rescue the girls who were struggling in a rip current. A bystander also attempted a rescue but required help himself. Joe and Chris successfully brought the girls back to shore and subsequently alerted emergency services, including coastguards and police. They emphasized the importance of supervising children near water and called for better signage regarding water safety.
