Peter John D’Arcy, 57, died in a crash on Cranborne Road in Knowlton on December 13, after spending the day with his son. The other driver, Robbie Diffey, 24, also perished at the scene. During an inquest, D’Arcy’s partner, Tara Pennington, expressed her heartbreak, describing him as her soulmate and a loving, charismatic man. D’Arcy’s children echoed the sentiment, mourning their father’s loss. Evidence revealed Diffey was driving over 90 mph while under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The coroner declared D’Arcy’s death an unlawful killing, condemning Diffey’s reckless driving as “abhorrent.”
