Dorset Police officers faced assaults while dispersing large crowds on Bournemouth beach, leading to injuries from glass bottles and other projectiles. Federation Chair Chris Wood expressed disbelief at the violence from a minority among beachgoers and praised the professionalism of the responding officers. Fortunately, their injuries were minor, allowing them to continue working. Wood also acknowledged public support for officers during the incident. The force is collaborating to ensure that those responsible for the assaults are apprehended and is implementing measures to prevent future conflicts amidst increased beach attendance.
