Wimborne Road was closed between the Northbourne Roundabout and The Broadway early this morning due to a significant underground water leak, which has caused the road surface and pavements to become unsafe. An additional closure is in effect between Avebury Avenue and Pinewood Avenue. Authorities estimate that a large section of the road may need to be dug up and potentially rebuilt to prevent sinkholes. The closure is expected to last for an extended period, and the public is advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes while BCP Council and Bournemouth Water manage the situation.
