Dorset employers encouraged to support future generation preparation

Over 100 participants in Dorset, including council members and business leaders, convened to discuss enhancing work experience opportunities for young people. The event, hosted by Dorset Careers Hub at The BattleLab, focused on upcoming national requirements mandating schools to provide workplace experiences starting from Year 7. Discussions involved workplace visits, employer-led projects, and workshops on health and safety. Attendees pledged support through various engagement efforts, fostering a directory for work experience. Councillor Richard Biggs emphasized the positive impact of work experience on youth confidence and local businesses, highlighting that all organizations can contribute, regardless of size.
