Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council has expanded its Safe Places Scheme to 175 venues, including shops and cafés, providing support for those feeling anxious or at risk. The scheme, run by People First Forum, features trained staff who assist individuals, from making phone calls to ensuring safe travel home. Currently, there are 102 Safe Places in Bournemouth, 57 in Poole, and 16 in Christchurch. Councillor Kieron Wilson emphasizes its role in fostering safer, more inclusive communities. Local businesses are encouraged to participate in the initiative.
