Residents urge zebra crossing installation on busy Wimborne road

A petition with 574 signatures has been organized by Rosanna Dean to address pedestrian safety on Wimborne Road, particularly near Knobcrook Bridge and the BP garage. Community concerns, especially for schoolchildren, arose after a near-miss incident. The area is experiencing increased traffic and development, intensifying safety issues. MP Vikki Slade supports the initiative and is working on improvements, including a pedestrian phase at Stone Lane traffic lights. Residents call for a dedicated crossing near the petrol station to ensure safe access to local schools and services. Councillor David Morgan is also exploring options for installing a new crossing.
