Dorset Council’s cabinet has approved funding to protect and enhance Swanage’s seafront, focusing on stabilizing the Green Seafront and improving Shore Road. Councillor Jon Andrews emphasized the importance of safeguarding this area for future generations. The scheme includes a £6.9 million stabilization project by Swanage Town Council and a £2.5 million Shore Road improvement plan. Additionally, the council will contribute £2 million for highway enhancements. These upgrades aim to address ground instability, improve access, and enhance public spaces, ensuring a vibrant environment for residents and tourists. Construction is set to start in autumn 2027, aiming for completion before summer 2028.
