Tom Hayes MP: ‘Reviving Our High Streets Together’

Tom Hayes, Labour MP for Bournemouth East, supports the Government’s £30 million initiative to combat illegal business activities related to money laundering and organized crime. The crackdown will focus on barber shops, vape stores, mini-marts, and sweet shops suspected of criminal ties. Hayes emphasized the need for safe, proud high streets, stating that legitimate businesses should not be undermined by organized crime. The new High Street Organised Crime Unit will oversee enforcement involving the National Crime Agency and other bodies, utilizing raids, closure orders, and cash seizures. Dorset Police are already taking action against organized crime in Bournemouth.
