Cobham Sports and Social Club in Poole has applied for retrospective planning permission to install floodlights on its sports pitch. Ward Councillor Richard Burton raised concerns about the impact on nearby residents and road safety, noting 7 traffic incidents near an adjacent junction over 15 years. The club’s representative, Giles Moir, argued that the floodlights are crucial for the club’s financial sustainability and community support. After discussions regarding safety and environmental impact, the committee approved the application with a 4-1 vote, while three councillors abstained.
