Weymouth Pavilion to Illuminate for Neurofibromatosis Awareness

The Pavilion on the seafront is turning blue tonight to mark World Neurofibromatosis Awareness Month. Neurofibromatosis (NF) is an incurable neurogenetic condition affecting over 26,500 people in the UK, causing tumors on nerve endings. The campaign “Shine a Light on NF” includes landmarks across Dorset, such as Bridport Town Hall and Twin Sails Bridge. NF encompasses types 1 and 2, affecting families with a 50% chance of inheritance. The initiative, led by Nerve Tumours UK, provides support for those diagnosed and their families, including specialized nursing services in the region.
