AFC Bournemouth stadium expansion set for approval

Plans to redevelop AFC Bournemouth’s stadium are set for approval at a May 22 meeting. The project entails demolishing and replacing the south stand, upgrading other stands, and infilling corners, adding over 9,000 seats. Key features include new hospitality areas, fan zones, upgraded facilities, and accessibility improvements, such as a Changing Places facility and 10 new lifts. A Section 106 agreement will fund transport upgrades, including £110,000 for Pokesdown railway station. While 129 letters support the plans, 58 objections cite concerns about traffic and noise. Planning officers believe the benefits outweigh the negatives.
