Aldi’s research reveals that 23% of people in Dorset feel embarrassed when purchasing menstrual products, causing disruptions in their lives. Additionally, 57% have turned to alternatives like toilet paper, and 29% have missed work or school due to access issues and stigma. Aldi’s chief commercial officer, Julie Ashfield, asserts that access to period products is a basic right. To combat period poverty, Aldi offers free period products in-store and has partnered with charities to provide one million items to those in need. Customers can also donate products at in-store collection points.
