NHS waiting lists decreased by 110,000 in March, marking the most significant drop since 2008, excluding the pandemic period. Labour MP Tom Hayes praised this improvement, highlighting faster care for patients and better emergency response times. Data revealed that 65.3% of patients were treated within target times, surpassing the goal, while ambulance response times reached their best in five years. A&E performance also improved to 77.1%. NHS staff were commended for their dedication, and the organization achieved a balanced budget for the first time in nine years, with the recruitment of over 2,000 additional GPs.
