Concerns raised over shop alcohol licence bid

A licensing hearing took place concerning Seafront Mini Market’s proposal to sell alcohol on Westover Road in Bournemouth. Initially seeking a license for sales from 8am to 3am, the application was revised to end alcohol sales by 11pm after discussions with Dorset Police, who then withdrew their objections. Despite this, concerns from ward councillor Jamie Martin, the YMCA, and the BCP Council’s anti-social behaviour team about potential issues arose. Applicant Jon Wallsgrove emphasized that staff training would promote responsible alcohol service. A decision on the license is expected within five working days.
