Dorset Council will begin maintenance works on several roads in Upton, including Moorland Way and Pinewood Road, starting May 26. Road closures will occur from 9 am to 4 pm, lasting up to 18 months, but are expected to finish by June 4. Divergent routes will be signposted, and roads will remain open during non-working hours and weekends. The project aims to enhance road safety through carriageway maintenance and resurfacing. A council spokesperson highlighted the necessity of these closures for health and safety compliance, ensuring safe working environments for road users.
