Questions remain regarding the timing of recent local elections and the role of newly established town councils in Bournemouth, Poole, and Broadstone. Originally proposed amendments to delay the elections until 2027 were rejected, despite community opposition. The council, with a majority from the Three Towns Alliance, proceeded with elections for the new councils, which will oversee local services like allotments and play areas. Residents can only dissolve these councils through another governance review. Next local elections for BCP Council and Christchurch councils are set for May 2027.
