On May 8, nearly 100,000 votes were counted for new town councils in Bournemouth, Poole, and Broadstone, featuring 184 candidates. In Bournemouth, Reform UK secured 12 out of 21 seats, establishing control over the town council, while the Green Party, Conservatives, Labour, and Liberal Democrats each won a smaller number of seats. Labour leader Patrick Canavan narrowly lost a seat by 150 votes, and Gillian Martin missed election by just one vote. Bournemouth had the lowest turnout at 34.13%. The town council will address community events, planning applications, and other local matters.
