Weymouth author unveils adaptation of classic Moonfleet novel

William Adams’ “Moonfleet Crimson Tide” reimagines J. Meade Falkner’s classic tale, set in Dorset in 1791. Aimed at young readers, this interactive novel features QR codes that link to original songs performed by local children, enhancing the narrative. The story follows 13-year-old John Treverton as he navigates the dangerous world of smugglers and pirates while the girl he loves waits for his return. Drawing from his childhood experiences, Adams incorporates real historical elements and local lore. The book also includes a competition for young readers to submit artwork or poetry, fostering community engagement.
