On May 8, 2026, election results for three new councils in Bournemouth, Poole, and Broadstone were announced at the Bournemouth International Centre. In Poole’s Newtown Ward, Reform UK won both seats with Jon Ayres (1521 votes) and Michael Day (1495 votes) elected, while Liberal Democrat Millie Earl (1415 votes) came in third. Earl, visibly upset, was comforted by fellow Liberal Democrat Sandra Mackrow. Other candidates included Sandra Mackrow (1295 votes), Helen Donaldson (377 votes, Labour), Jake Rafferty (582 votes, Green), and William Kimmet (66 votes, UKIP).
