Councillors Celebrate Significant Wins in New Town Councils

Reform UK gained majorities on both Bournemouth and Poole town councils, while the Liberal Democrats secured the majority on Broadstone Town Council following elections on May 7. A total of 91,801 votes were cast across 136 polling stations, with varying turnout rates: Bournemouth (34.13%), Poole (37.35%), and Broadstone (49.77%). Reform UK celebrated their success, vowing to address residents’ concerns. Newly elected councillors expressed their commitment to serving their communities. MPs congratulated them and emphasized the importance of working for residents’ interests, aiming to keep council costs low and enhance local governance.
