Poole Law Courts will close on May 25 for six months due to essential ceiling repairs. During this time, cases will be relocated to nearby courts, impacting hearing schedules. The Law Society has expressed concerns about the closure’s implications for access to justice, emphasizing the need for government investment in the court system amid a £1.3 billion maintenance issue. Mark Evans, the Society’s president, noted that case relocations may burden witnesses and legal professionals. Dorset Police is collaborating with HM Courts and Tribunals Service to mitigate disruptions, while ongoing monitoring will ensure support for affected parties.
