Bournemouth University student Abbie Harrington made history as part of Team ParaCheer GB at the International Cheer Union World Championships in Orlando, the first fully Paralympic eligible team to compete. From April 22 to 24, Abbie and her teammates performed two routines without any deductions. She expressed pride in representing Britain and appreciated the crowd’s support. Having started cheerleading less than a year ago, Abbie benefited from a university sports scholarship that enhanced her strength and covered competition costs. Team ParaCheer GB hopes to inspire more countries to form similar teams and aims for future competitiveness in international events.
