The Woolpack pub in Sopley has experienced multiple incidents recently, including flooding and a car crash. On May 4, a vehicle crashed into the pub’s garden around 4 AM, requiring a crane for removal. This followed a previous incident where another car fell into the brook after damaging a bridge. Barbara Smith, the landlady, noted the speed of the vehicle was alarming and praised the outdoor furniture for mitigating damage. Police arrested two 21-year-old men from Bournemouth for dangerous driving and drug-related offenses. Despite disruptions, the pub aims to reopen in June, remaining a community hub.
