Renate Morley, an 85-year-old actress from Bournemouth, passed away in December 2021. She bequeathed her estate to the Dorset Community Foundation, which supports local charities, awarding over £1.9 million in grants last year. Originally from East Germany, Renate fled to the West in the late 1960s. Throughout her colorful life, she won a German Film Academy Award and later moved to Bournemouth, marrying journalist John Morley. Renate also co-founded a wedding photography business and continued acting into her late 70s, leaving a legacy that will aid many in Dorset through the Foundation’s efforts.
