Manchester Airport has the longest flight delays in the UK, followed by Birmingham and Bournemouth. An analysis of data from the Civil Aviation Authority showed Bournemouth Airport experienced average delays of 17 minutes and 18 seconds. The delays are often attributed to factors beyond the airports’ control, including air traffic disruptions and severe weather. Rory Boland from Which? Travel expressed concerns over the impact of these delays on travelers, especially as Manchester has consistently been rated poorly for four years. Passengers may be entitled to assistance or compensation depending on the delay’s cause, but airlines often struggle to fulfill these obligations during major disruptions.
