A rescue operation unfolded near the disused quarry at St Albans Head, involving teams from St Albans, Kimmeridge, and Swanage. Two people became stranded on the cliffs, necessitating the deployment of ropes, a winch, and a coastguard helicopter. Access was complicated by dense hawthorn bushes, requiring specialized equipment. Upon arrival, rescue teams called out to the individuals before safely communicating with them. A rope technician secured the pair, who were then winched to safety and airlifted to the top of the cliffs for assessment by an ambulance crew, with no immediate reports of serious injuries.
