Winton Primary School in Bournemouth is set to open a preloved uniform shop to support local families and promote sustainability. The initiative aims to reduce school uniform costs by offering high-quality second-hand items at low prices. Families in need can take items for free, emphasizing accessibility. Sustainability champion Jacon Eaton highlighted the project’s environmental focus, as it encourages the reuse of uniforms and repurposes lost property, minimizing waste. Funded by a local donor, students contributed ideas, voted on the shop’s name, and designed its sign, making it a community-driven effort. The shop will operate non-profit, with proceeds supporting the school.
