Home-Start Wessex, a charity supporting families in Dorset, has been shortlisted for the Patron’s Award in the 2026 British Quality Foundation UK Excellence Awards. The award recognizes organizations that positively impact their communities through leadership and service. Chief Executive Kathy Fryatt-Banks expressed pride in being among only four finalists, highlighting their growth from helping 10 families in 1995 to over 526 families in the past year. The charity provides friendship and emotional support to parents in crisis, addressing challenges like mental health issues and financial hardship. Winners will be announced on October 8 at Wembley Stadium.
