Last week, the Dorset Roads Policing Team conducted a national campaign targeting uninsured vehicles. The operation resulted in five drivers penalized for using mobile phones, three for lacking a valid MOT, and one arrest for a driving offence. One vehicle was seized for being untaxed, while two motorists faced tax-related actions. The campaign included a “day of action” on April 22 with support from the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB), focusing on identifying uninsured drivers. Uninsured motorists face significant penalties, including fines and possible driving bans, alongside the increased risk of accidents linked to uninsured vehicles.
