On April 19, 2023, three fire crews responded to a house fire on Dale Road around 7:15 AM. Firefighters used breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze in the roof, with the scene cleared by 8:05 AM. The Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that no injuries were reported, and a subsequent fire investigation is planned. Dale Valley Road was temporarily closed during the incident but has since reopened. One crew remains on-site to assist with the investigation.
