Ferndown care home bakes bread to support charity

In-house bakers at Colten Care’s Amberwood House in Ferndown made bread rolls and loaves for the local Ferndown Community Support. Residents, including Margaret Collins, Marj Maison, and Shirley Allen, participated in the baking, overseen by chef Bart Wujczak. Shirley expressed the joy of giving back to the community, which included extra supermarket loaves delivered alongside the home-baked goods. Team leader Maddee Baker noted the lively atmosphere and nostalgic moments for residents. Amberwood House, celebrating its 20th anniversary in June 2026, is rated outstanding by the Care Quality Commission and supports various community services, including Foodbank+.
