Who is the Black Cab Rapist former Bournemouth taxi driver

John Worboys, known as the “Black cab rapist,” exploited his taxi driver role to offer drug-laced drinks to women, leading to numerous sexual assaults. Many victims reported waking up confused about the events after accepting his drinks. Despite initial police failures to properly investigate, Worboys was convicted in 2009 of 19 offenses, including rape and drugging, targeting over 100 women. After serving ten years, a controversial Parole Board ruling in 2018 deemed him safe for release, prompting public outcry and legal challenges. He remains incarcerated, with a 2026 parole hearing now cancelled, to be reviewed via a paper hearing instead.
