Weymouth fraudster jailed after conning victims out of £190,000

Simon John Turner, a repeat fraudster, has been sentenced to ten years in prison for swindling nearly £190,000 from victims in Weymouth through fake caravan deals and investments. Turner, 49, befriended a man in his 60s at a caravan park, convincing him to invest over £100,000 in non-existent transactions, leaving him homeless and financially devastated. He also defrauded two others by taking £76,000 for items that were never delivered. Investigators found falsified invoices, highlighting the severe emotional and financial impact on victims, some of whom faced significant life changes due to their losses. Turner’s manipulative tactics have been described as callous.
