Major search and rescue for individual spotted in water Bournemouth Pier

On April 11, the Southbourne Coastguard Rescue Team was activated at 6:07 PM to locate a person reportedly in the water between Bournemouth and Boscombe Pier. As the RNLI searched Bournemouth Pier, the Southbourne team moved to Boscombe, assisted by a Lee-on-Solent helicopter. Shoreline and pier searches were conducted, leading to the recovery of a casualty from Bournemouth Pier by the Mudeford RNLI, who was then taken by ambulance. Ultimately, it was confirmed both reports were for the same individual. The public was reminded to call 999 for coastguard assistance if anyone is in trouble at sea.
