Powerleague, a small-sided football and padel operator, has obtained £22.5 million in funding from Barclays. This investment aims to expand its padel court offerings, modernize existing football pitches, and enhance facilities nationwide, including locations in the South West, like Bournemouth. CFO Michael Evans highlighted Barclays’ support for the company’s transformation from a CVA to hosting over 150,000 games weekly. The funding will improve grassroots sport access, promoting physical and mental wellbeing for customers. Duncan Irvine from Barclays emphasized Powerleague’s role in providing affordable, local sports facilities.
