Ryanair threatens to cancel Malta flights over new EES rules

The new Entry/Exit System (EES) requires non-EU travelers to provide personal data, fingerprints, and photos for stays up to 90 days, causing significant traveler delays. Ryanair’s Malta subsidiary CEO, David O’Brien, has threatened to cut flights to Malta due to congestion and lengthy wait times, with reports of 122 passengers missing a flight from Milan to Manchester. Meanwhile, Greece has opted out of the EES for British passport holders to streamline arrivals and reduce airport congestion. Ryanair operates numerous routes between Malta and the UK, and industry leaders are calling for a temporary suspension of the EES.
