The recent Great Dorset Beach Clean was highly successful, with 346 volunteers collecting a record 628kg of rubbish from 21 beach cleans, nearly doubling last year’s total of 330kg. Emma Jackson of Litter Free Dorset hailed the achievement, emphasizing the growing community support for the initiative. The event involved various local groups and businesses, including the Bowleaze Beach Care Group and Clean Jurassic Coast. Participants ranged from seasoned volunteers to newcomers, many praising the rewarding experience despite challenging weather. Further totals are expected as additional clean-ups are still pending.
